The Ganga originates in the Himalayas after the confluence of six rivers – Alaknanda meets Dhauliganga at Vishnuprayag, Nandakini at Nandprayag, Pindar at Karnaprayag, Mandakini at Rudraprayag and finally Bhagirathi at Devaprayag. From here onwards, the river is known as Ganga or Ganges.

Out of the five rivers, the Bhagirathi is considered to be the source stream originating at the Gangotri Glacier.

Known as the white water capital of India, the Ganga near Shivpuri, (14 kms from Rishikesh and 250 kms from Delhi ) offers an ideal location for white water sports.
