Trip Highlights
Known as the white water capital of India, the Ganges near Shivpuri, Rishikesh offers an ideal location for white water sports. Only 250 Kms out of Delhi the site has various connections by road and rail.
The MHE luxury camp is located on a silver sand beach on the banks of the Holy Ganges. Fourteen Kms ahead of the holy city of Rishikesh, the camp is nestled within the virgin forests on the Great Himalayan foothills and situated on the far side of the river offering and access only by boat. With the river on one side and protected forest on the other, the four acre complex provides an unspoiled, exclusive and pure atmosphere to visitors.
The camp provides accommodation in 25 luxury tents with attached verandahs. Complete care has been taken to ensure that the camp conforms to the strictest environmental guidelines and practices. Even though there are no permanent structures at the site, our team of highly experienced guides , cooks , Sherpas and management have spared no efforts to make the it a very comfortable and fun place to be. Our faculty boasts of competent members looking after adventure activities, naturopathy, astronomy, Yoga, bird watching and wild life.
WILD LIFE
The virgin forests around the camp are home to over 200 different kinds of birds like Minivets , Flycatchers, Oriloes , Hornbills , Woodpeckers , Lapwings , Fowl , Martins , flowepeckers etc. The jungles around are part of the Rajaji National Park limits and are home to different kinds of Deer , Elephants , Wild Boar , Leopard , Apes , Monkeys and numerous small mammals and reptiles.

- TENTS:
Our own manufacturing unit has specially designed the tents. The sleeping area is approx. 100 sq. feet with a canopy in front providing a 5 X 5 feet verandah and a small attached changing area at the rear. All tents are provided with twin beds with crisp linen, two easy chairs in front and the inside furnishings like a bedside table and a clothes.
MHE tents are the only ones that offer attached ground sheets to protect sand and insects from entering the tent.
- CUISINE
We believe in home cooked, sumptuous meals with a varied choice of Indian, Chinese and continental cuisines. Personal requests if any, can be catered to.
- SAFETY:
Our team of highly experienced guides, cooks and management have spared no efforts to make the camp a very comfortable and fun place to be. MHE guides are highly trained professionals and use the latest techniques and equipment. Safety forms the basis for all our programs and utmost care is taken to ensure safe practices at all levels.
- THE GREEN TEAM:
The camp staff and guides and even our guests are required to adhere to strict environmental guidelines and live up our policy of “minimum impact and maximum experience”.

SAMPLE ITINERARY FOR TWO NIGHTS THREE DAYS
- THE CLASSIC WEEKEND ESCAPE
DAY 01: DELHI – SHIVPURI
Arrive early afternoon at the MHE jungle camp. After cool refreshments and a wash, change into our rafting gear and depart for your first day on the river. The drive up to Marine Drive takes approximately 20 minutes. On arrival your instructors will check your gear and give a short introductory briefing to prepare you for the White Water Run. Your raft run till our beach camp will take approximately two hours during which you will negotiate small but exciting rapids like Cash Flow, Black Money, Three Blind Mice, Camp Rapid and Return to Centre. Hot tea and a warm welcome await you at our exclusive Beach Camp.
You have the evening to relax and settle in to your comfortable and cosy tents. Time permitted you can go for a short jungle walk. Camp fire & sing song is followed by a buffet spread dinner.
DAY 02: SHIVPURI
An early morning wake up call with hot water is in order if you want to enjoy the clean mountain air and the misty Ganga valley. Our early morning walk will take you into some of the last virgin forests in India. A stroll through the dense tropical foliage amidst bird sounds and morning sun rays filtering through the leafy trees is a gentle but strong awakening for us city dwellers. Optional Yoga classes can also be organised on prior request. Return to camp for a well deserved, hot breakfast.
Camp activities like Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Kayaking, Dune Jumping, Swimming, trekking and beach volleyball are at disposal for your use this morning. At approximately 1100 hrs you will depart for your most exciting day on the river. Negotiating grade 3 and grade 4 rapids like the Roller Coaster and Golf Course provide for an unequalled and un forgettable experience. Today you will have plenty of time to indulge in body surfing, cliff jumping and sunbathing on the rafts while you gently float down towards the pull out point at N.I.M. beach. Your hot buffet lunch spread with tea and coffee will await your arrival. After lunch and lounging around on the beach you board your buses to return to camp for another relaxed evening on our beach camp.
Sing song and dinner is the order of the evening.
DAY 03: SHIVPURI - DELHI
We save the biggest for the last. Today is an early start after breakfast at 0700 hrs. We drive for 45 minutes to our put in point at Kaudiyala. Today, we will negotiate some of the most thrilling rapids on the Ganga. Starting with Daniel’s Dip we finish with a grand finale to your entire trip when we negotiate The Wall. The latter half of your trip is just a scenic float through some of the most beautiful landscape in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas. Finish rafting at Marine Drive. Drive back to the MHE Jungle Camp for a quick lunch before commencing your journey back to Delhi.
