Himachal, Spiti and KinnaurHimachal is a large Himalayan state that offers trekking through vastly different kinds of areas. The eastern areas of Kangra, Chamba and Kullu are lush green with tall firs and numerous wild flowers. The districts of Kinnaur, Spiti and Lahaul are sheltered from the rain bearing Monsoon by mighty Himalayan ranges and the flora is remarkably different. Most of the longer treks begin in one region, negotiate a pass and enter a strikingly different region.
For sheer geographical and cultural diversity, not many places in the World offer as much as the Himalayan State of Himachal Pradesh. Dharamshala in Kangra is the home in exile of the Dalai Lama of Tibet.
