Satopanth Climbing Expedition

Climbing Expedition Highlights

MHE is proud to be the only company to offer a fixed date International Climbing Camp in India. We started these camps in 2002 and the first camp was organised in collaboration with the UIAA. In each consecutive year we have organised an annual training camp followed by an attempt on a 7000 Mts.+ peak. The camp offers an ideal opportunity for climbing clubs to send their young climbers to get professional climbing experience in the Indian Himalayas. The camp is run by professionals and is also affordable at the same time.

The training camp focuses on high altitude experience, ice climbing practice and an attempt on a 7000 mts. Peak. In the past, successful camps have been held on the Satopanth (Garhwal) and Nun in Kashmir on an annual basis.
The camps are organised by Col. N. Kumar (Bull), a former member of the UIAA Expeditions Committee, co-leader of 1965 Indian Everest  Expedition, and  Leader of the First Ascent of the North Eastern Spur of Kanchenjunga to name a few. Outside Magazine (Feb 2003) has even featured an article on Col. Kumar's ski traverse and climbs in the Siachen Glacier area.
MHE have decided to hold another camp this year for Satopanth (7065 M) peak. Please use this opportunity to send your young climbers to the Indian Himalayas.

Apart from Indian instructors, we offer free land arrangements for one instructor per four paying climbers. All instructors will have to provide us with a detailed resume of their climbing achievements.

High Altitude Equipment
We supply high altitude food, tents and burners. High Altitude Porters are used to ferry loads. All participants are required to bring their own personal gear like harnesses, shoes, carabiners, jumpers etc.

It is mandatory for all participants and instructors to buy International Travel Insurance which must cover Emergency Air Evacuation. We require Personal insurance details before your arrival in India to process your application.

All participants and instructors will be given UIAA certificates after completion of the course.
